Teaching martial arts is not a job. It’s a calling. At Scornavacco Martial Arts Academy, we’re always looking for the next person who has that calling — someone who loves the art, loves working with people, and wants to pass something meaningful on to the next generation.
We don’t hire instructors. We develop them.
What We Look For
Rank matters less than you might think. What we actually look for:
- A genuine love of martial arts and a commitment to ongoing personal training
- The ability to connect with students of all ages — especially kids
- Patience, humility, and a willingness to learn how to teach
- Character that holds up under pressure
If you have those qualities, rank and experience can be developed. If you don’t, no amount of rank makes up for it.
How It Works
We run a three-tier instructor development program — from Assistant Instructor through Senior Instructor. Each tier has clear responsibilities, a defined schedule, and a path forward. You won’t be thrown in the deep end. You’ll be trained the same way we train our students — step by step, with real feedback and real standards.
Ready to Talk?
If this resonates with you, the next step is simple — come have a conversation. No formal application, no audition. Just a conversation to see if there’s a fit.

We’re not always actively hiring — but we’re always interested in the right person.
