Most summer camps keep kids busy. This one builds them up.
Black Belt Leadership Camp is an intensive five-day experience at Scornavacco Martial Arts Academy where children ages 7 to 11 discover what they’re truly capable of — physically, mentally, and as young leaders. They’ll train like martial artists, think like leaders, and go home on Friday a different kid than the one you dropped off on Monday.

What your child will experience.
Martial arts training.
Real instruction from Mr. Scornavacco himself. Your child will learn striking, self-defense, and movement fundamentals in a structured, age-appropriate environment — the same foundation that SMAA students have been building on since 1998.
Leadership development.
What makes a leader? How do you encourage someone who’s struggling? How do you stay calm when things get hard? These aren’t abstract questions here — they’re practiced every day through drills, teamwork challenges, and guided reflection.
Focus and self-control training.
The mental skills that make a great martial artist are the same ones that make a great student, teammate, and person. Your child will leave camp with tools for managing their attention, handling frustration, and pushing through when quitting feels easier.
Confidence that sticks.
Five days of being challenged, succeeding, helping others succeed, and being treated with genuine respect by their instructors. That kind of confidence doesn’t wash off after summer ends.
